Our Story
Yvenel Elisnord is the Founder and President of Haitian American New Vision of Waltham (HANVOW), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering immigrants in the Waltham community and surrounding areas. With over a decade of leadership, Yvenel has built a platform that provides crucial services such as immigration assistance, job application guidance, ESL classes, basic legal aid, and more, fostering a sense of community and inclusion for those seeking a better life.
Yvenel is a dedicated law enforcement professional who has spent years serving Massachusetts commonwealth community, demonstrating his commitment to safety, justice, and service. A man of strong faith, Yvenel is deeply guided by his belief in God and strives to lead with integrity, compassion, and a heart for service.
In addition to his professional and community work, Yvenel is a proud father, committed to providing a positive role model for his children and instilling in them the values of hard work, respect, and perseverance.
Yvenel earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Central State University, where he developed the skills and knowledge that would later support his leadership in both business and community initiatives. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Urban Affairs at Boston University, further expanding his expertise to address the evolving needs of urban communities and continue making a positive impact through HANVOW.
As the leader of HANVOW, Yvenel remains committed to building a better future for immigrants and underserved communities, ensuring that they have the resources, support, and opportunities to thrive in a new and often challenging environment. His leadership reflects his dedication to faith, family, service, and community development.
